Perkiomen Taxes

The county’s website lists the tax millage rates for all 62 of the municipalities in the county for 2011.

The good news.

Perkiomen Township is among the lowest taxed. The millage rate is 0.62
Our neighbors in Upper Providence, Trappe, Worcester and Skippack are the only ones that area lower, and they are nearly 0.

The bad news.

Perkiomen Valley School District is near the top at 28.14. Higher than PV schools are Springfield, Lower Moreland, Norristown, Jenkintown, Pottsgrove, Pottstown & Cheltenham School Districts.

Overall, that puts us at number 24 out of 62 in taxes.

Election Day 2009

If you’d like to help out, we have plenty of volunteer opportunities on Election Day, Tuesday November 3rd. Email me if you can spare an hour or two with the voters.

In addition to the large slate of judges, we have some township offices up for election or re-election.

There is also a school board question on the ballot:

“Do you favor eliminating the Perkiomen Valley School District’s Occupational Assessment Tax by an effectively revenue neutral action of increasing the rate of Earned Income Tax to a maximum 0.9%”

Here is our sample GOP ballot:
